Doodle yourself cosy ✏️🎩
(Funny hat optional)
My favourite thing about drawing is that when you draw from your imagination, you have to bring something to life in your minds eye first.
You become a magician, just without a funny hat, though you can of course wear a funny hat if you like, what you wear on your head is none of my business.
It reminds me a bit of guided visualisations when you’re trying out mindfulness or relaxation. You have to create the picture in your mind and try and experience it.
But with drawing you get to catch it before it zooms away on the mist ,and scribble it down onto paper and voila!
Your picture once nothing , then a picture in your mind is now suddenly on paper.
It exists on the outside of your inside.
Like a rabbit out of a hat but less problematic and challenging.
And then the lovely thing about that is, that whilst you are doing all the imagining and then all the drawing it down, I’m convinced that you get all the lovely side effects of experiencing the thing as if you were really there ,even though your brain is just experiencing it in your imagination.
There’s probably some science about it somewhere.
Anyway it’s time for you to have a go!
✏️ Doodle Prescription
Before you take your doodle prescription….
☕️Make a relaxing drink of something,
👖put on a really comfy pair of trousers,
🧦dig out your floofiest socks ,
🧘♀️put your hands on your stomach and take some breaths in and out.
You are now ready.
My doodle prescription for you this month is to doodle yourself a cosy magical space which can either be total fantasy or real life, it’s up to you.
Maybe it’s a space filled with an inside tree and one of those amazing book nooks or maybe it’s a hammock in the clouds or maybe it’s a hot tub at the top of a lighthouse with the rain pouring down or even the worlds biggest sofa and every colour of Labrador available, maybe it’s all your plants, whatever makes you feel cosy and warm and happy , drawing it out and summoning it up ,should make you feel lovely and then maybe you should have a little snooze after.
Let me know if you have a go,
Yours in doodle,
Amy ✏️👩🦰
✂️Sketchbook Snippet.
I had a go at drawing Barry with a stick dipped in ink and then an imaginary dog which was less successful. This is a fun exercise to do especially if you are a little tense about making a start on drawing something . Ink always looks lovely even if the doodling is less lovely than you hoped it might be.

Loved this prompt thanks Amy ❤️ just sat and did it and it made me feel all snuggly and nice!
