Fizzy like popping candy ✨
Just less aggressive on your taste buds
Here we be in twixtmas, twixing and twaxing and dreaming and imagining and wondering where all the cheese came from.
I recently found this poem I wrote a whole 6 years ago. It was loosely inspired by a Lurpak advert of all things. I put it in the front of my non bestselling book about a ferret called Trevor.
I recently remembered it and I’m glad I did, it made me smile and was like an extra bit of fizz to stick into my new year rocket.
The Keep Going -post it note poem
For the Faraway out of the window gazers,
The dreamers and the no idea how to make it happeners,
For the grafters getting no- where faster,
For the some day, one day sooners,
For the 5 million ideas & just need 1 to work, write em in a notebook buyers,
For the ones that just know-ers,
For the keep trying again- ers,
For the can’t stop creators( won’t stop),
For the Lets Just Do it Do-ers,
For the Bravest of the BRAVE,so brave) Believers,
This ones for you,
Keep going.

I hadn’t been self employed long but I’d got a sense that my creative career dreams may take a while to fully come to fruition. I felt deep inside my core that this was going to be a long game, which for an impatient I want it now person was a pretty bitter sprout to swallow.
But I’ll be honest ,knowing that has made it a lot easier to put up with when the trudge has felt slow and boring, I don’t give up , I just remind myself that my creative work has value and each step forward is a step forward and a step nearer but also a step along on a really interesting journey.
So if you are still, plugging away at something really important to you,
Bring it to the front, get it bubbling away on the best ring on your life’s stove top and
Keep on going,
UNLESS,
it’s making you miserable and if that’s the case kindly wave it off into the sunset so you can enjoy being excellent at something else, because, you are excellent.

✏️ it’s the 1st of January 2026- Doodle your perfect day ✏️
Now consider -Are their elements of your perfect day you could squish into your everyday? 🤔
Maybe you should write that shit down.
✂️ Sketchbook Snippet ✂️
I did a small doodle everyday until Christmas from the 1st of December and it was a lovely point to stop and reflect on my day and then find my favourite thing to doodle down.As you can see it was pretty rough and ready but lovely to look back. Maybe you could try this in Jan? I did a lovely visual journal course with Cara Holland Graphic Change Academy a few years ago and it’s something I revisit often to refresh my practice and stay creative.
Any way happy twixing twixers and I can’t wait to hang out with you next year!
Lots of love
