Slow start,
Strong finish 💪🙌✨
I’m feeling the energy of finishing stuff off, finally closing those tabs in my brain and completing things.
Learning to finish personal creative projects is something I have to work really hard to do, mostly because I have lots of ideas and love the starting phase of a creative thing, the messy middle finishing phase less so. But mate it’s so good when you get these little side projects done. Honouring your creative ideas that you think deserve to exist is really hard but it is important and good for your soul.
I don’t normally list what I’ve been up to but I’ve completed a few things I’m really proud of recently so thought I’d share!
Freelancer Mag Doodle
Did you see it? I loved the brief for this one, it was all about boundaries and freelance work 👉https://lnkd.in/p/eheyiYHK
A Special Card for Difficult Times
The personal project that took me a year! Last year I came up with an idea for a dog bereavement card, inspired by my first dog Rory, a sweet and yellow senior fur legend. I made the card I’d want to receive , check it out here and let me know what you think- 👉 https://ko-fi.com/s/d9dce150a1
Travelling Crayons
I recently visited cowork crew in London to give a lunchtime workshop about creativity and doodling. There were crayons and end of term vibes aplenty. It was so much fun and a reminder of how much I love sharing my enthusiasm to encourage other people to doodle! If you are a small biz or freelancer you should go check them out-👉https://coworkcrew.com
✏️✏️Have a doodling good summer
I’m not really off over the summer but I am going to be squeezing in a 10 minutes a day doodle just for the sake of it- in around the edges of work and life and all that jazz. I fell out the habit and I’m gonna fall back into it.
If you want to join me but never know what to draw, here are A WHOLE BUNCH of doodle prompts for you to doodle with your morning brew…
✏️Doodle your breakfast for a week.
✏️Doodle the face of someone you love.
✏️Randomly pick a photo from your phone camera roll and doodle that.
✏️Doodle a moment from your day, the teensier the better- do it daily or weekly or when you remember and see how you feel looking back.
✏️Learn how to draw your favourite animal- check Pinterest for how to draw tutorials.
✏️Fill a blank card full of colourful scribbles and lines and blobs, send it to a mate.
✏️Doodle a polar bear investigating a crime for his podcast( thinking about snow and polar bears will cool you down).
✏️Doodle a condiment bottle from your cupboard every day. You could make yourself a cool kitchen poster, I’m definitely going to try that.
✏️Doodle your shoes.Doodle all your shoes.
Anyway as ever let me know if you do some doodling, I love seeing your pictures. Don’t forget the more you doodle the more betterer you become and whilst that’s happening you are treating your lovely brain to some sweet sweet flow time.
I’ll be back end of August to check in and find out how the doodlings going,
lots of love,
Amy x👩🦰✨✏️
